Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Sales Team Lead to spearhead sales strategies, manage a high-performing team, and drive success in the business funding and alternative lending space.
Core Tasks
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales funnel/process tailored to the business funding/alternative lending industry.
- Lead, train, and manage a small team of Business Development Representatives
(BDRs) to ensure they meet performance targets. - Actively contribute to outbound and inbound prospecting efforts, including cold-calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn campaigns.
- Schedule and manage qualified appointments for the client’s calendar, ensuring
prospects meet pre-set qualification criteria. - Monitor and report on team performance metrics, including outreach, booking, and closing rates.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales processes;
regularly review and optimize them. - Handle complex sales or escalated issues, collaborating with leadership to secure deals.
- Ensure alignment with the organization’s overall sales strategy and objectives.
Must Haves
- 5+years of experience in a sales leadership role, ideally in business funding, alternative lending, or financial services.
- Proven track record of implementing successful sales funnels/processes and managing a team to achieve targets.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales quotas in a BDR or similar capacity.
- Strong experience using CRMs like HubSpot or PipeDrive for contact and pipeline management.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, or similar lead generation tools.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for reporting and analytics.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a start-up environment with a focus on sales and business development.
- Familiarity with tools such as Dialpad or other telephony solutions for outreach.
- Knowledge of the alternative lending market or SMB funding landscape.
- Experience with consultative and solution-based selling approaches.
